Village Hall

The Village Hall building dates back to 1869, it was originally two cottages, before coming the village school and finally the Village Hall owned by Drayton Parish Council in 1976.

It is part of our village heritage and offers a central meeting place for social interaction to the local and wider community. The VH, which was fully refurbished 2011 – 2013 where it received a new roof, a fully equipped kitchen and two toilets including one which is suitable for disabled users. There is also wheelchair access at the front of the building and a car park at the rear of the building for 6 to 8 cars as well as on road parking.

The main hall is of medium size and measures 10m x 5m making ideal for children’s birthday parties. We can also offer tables that will seat up to 35 people comfortably and 50 chairs perfect for talks and lectures. The hall has a very popular indoor Skittle Alley which is available for hire.

As well as hiring out the VH, the management committee also holds fund raising events such as skittles, Bunko, and race nights. On the third Wednesday of the month at 7.00pm, the Wednesday Club (formerly the WI,) arranges some very interesting speakers and talks. Of course the Village Hall is also home to Drayton Parish Council who meet the second Thursday of every other month. The charges are as follows:

£10 per hour or £7.50 per hour for village residents. There is also a £10 one off charge for use of the kitchen, if required.

The business rate is £15 per hour for sales, exhibitions etc.

Hire of the Skittle Alley is £30 plus the hourly rate.
